Q&A: Please could someone help me interpret my dream?

Question by Epic Fail: Please could someone help me interpret my dream?
Ok, so this is the first non nightmare I have had in a long time. The beginning is a bit fuzzy, but I know I was hanging out with my significant other’s older brother around our college town (all three of us go to this college in real life). The town was very abstract, a lot of roads bending odd ways, and a lot of hills in the residential area but the town itself was magnified into a much larger city (like a Minneapolis or st louis city or something) Then I don’t remember a bit, and I’m almost on the (if where i was was north, where i lived was east) outskirt of where the city turns residential. Behind an empty old Sams Club, beyond the parking lot My significant other, a lesbian friend and I built a house. When we started all that was there was the foundation and a few steel beams. We made it into like a warehouse/house. the outside was a non rusting metal that looked like steel, but the inside we worked very hard on making it a luxury home. we put in all the electrical and plumbing, the walls, the insulation, the appliances, decor, tile, furniture, counters etc. I specifically handled the kitchen (my favorite part of the house other than a huge window I could sit by and watch the rain){It was always raining in the second half of the dream} it was mostly an open floor plan. The bedroom as one large room where you could press a button and the walls would drop down, separating the room into four more private bed rooms. All of the ceilings were very tall. Me and my significant other ended up going to a church for some kind of event (we are not religious nor were we in this dream) I think it may have been a wedding but all that was in my dream was the dinner held afterward. A huge buffet with seafood and a TON of cheap sweets like little debbie cakes and rolls and such. I never eat little debbie cakes or drink soda, but its like in the dream i was STUFFING myself, not very abstract here other than the amount i was able to eat, like i couldn’t get enough. There was an ex nazi german guy there who had a removed tattoo of a swastika on his forehead who i had a very christian based intellectual conversation with and something i said pissed him and everyone there off so my significant other and I had to leave. we then were at home the second we had stepped off the sidewalk in front of the church (which reminded me of fallout 3 by its design on the outside inside it looked like a normal dining hall) At home our roomate had a kitten that wasnt previously in the dream but at that point it seemed normal that the kitten was there also there were new tiles i LOVED but didnt remember putting down, there was normal light conversation i walked through the kitchen while we were talking (open floor plan) and went back to the back of the house where there was a small nook off from the study area behind the bedrooms where i sat and opened a small part of the window that reached up almost to the celing – as it rained i had a cigarette and felt very relaxed and woke up to my significant other calling to me from what seemed like behind me in the dream but i couldnt turn around and when i did i woke up.

Sorry so long, but can anyone help? This is the first dream I’ve had in years that wasn’t a nightmare, and oddly enough the only feelings i had was pressure when chilling with my significant others brother and the extreme peace at the end. Thank you ahead of time.

Ps there may or may not have been a blond chick who was dating my friend and lived with us, its like when i think back shes not there, but in the dream she was, if that makes sense.

im moving house and the house im moving to has a very large living room. instead of doing the typical one wall with wallpaper. i intend to wallpaper the bottom half of all the walls with the chosen wallpaper above and paint the top half maybe a tan or stone. does this sound nice to you?
with teal blue, cream, brown more of a mocha accessories.
because of the bottom half of the wallpaper being blue should i get a multicoloured rug or patterend instead of plain duck egg blue?

The wallpaper is very nice. Papering the bottom of all the walls is not strange, though it’s usually just the bottom 1/3 of the wall, and there is molding separating the wallpaper from the painted area. The rug, however, is very dark, and I don’t think it matches the wallpaper at all. In fact, though I like teal, I don’t think it will look right in this room. I think the over-sized daisies painting will be fine. The boldness of the large art piece is tempered by its neutral colors.

Going over your color scheme- you mention duck-egg blue, cream, tan or stone, teal blue, and mocha. The duck-egg blue should be on a rug in the middle of the room to mirror and enhance the wallpaper. From a design perspective curtains frame the windows, and I think a cream color would carry the wallpaper’s impact upward, bridging the top and bottom. Where exactly did you envision the mocha being used?

If I were doing this room, I would want a sofa upholstered in the color of the top of the wall (the tan, or stone). One or two accent chairs in a simple design of duck-egg blue with cream/tan/stone/mocha would enliven the feel. See the two links below for fabrics I think would work for accent chairs. Whenever you go looking for fabrics for this room, be sure to take along a piece of the wallpaper, and samples of your upholstery and paint colors. The visual reminders will prevent your eye from being overwhelmed by the choices.

Don’t use many different patterns, even if they have the same color combinations. And, don’t rush to fill up this larger room with knick-knacks and objects d’art. Keeping the room uncluttered will continue the modern, sophisticated look that the daisies wall art inspires.
